All I could think about when I bought this at Goodwill the other week (for $1, I might add) was what on earth I could add to make it even more ridiculous. This is a cute and visually-pleasing image for sure, but what is the point? When I opened up the frame, I found that whoever had owned this last had scotch-taped the postcard-sized print on to the insert sold with the frame. There’s even a precious 1981 couple taking a walk on the beach on the back. I glued the two together so I could paint over both and create an additional layer. The Spanish came to me while I was in the shower. I also made the grammar incorrect (effectively: “to accompany you us to the beach?”) to highlight the uselessness of this whole image. Final touch: hammer, nail and hanging implement.
