My friend Rose invited me to visit her grandfather’s (who died this past year) old farm. It was about a 40-minute drive from Columbia got there just at sunset when the light was changing. Here are some photos.

Being watched by a field full of cows was almost as weird as the sounds they made, from cellphone vibration-esque to almost catlike.

 Que! I was in the room when this happened! It was pretty cool! My ego is even bigger than it was before! :DDDDDD

And, obviously, I couldn’t have made a photo spread without awesome photographs. Kudos to Nick Schnelle for making a great story (see Nick’s own post on the story) and Eve Edelheit for editing and helping me design a clean logo (remember that?).

The spread in question:

Thanks for allowing me to put more links in one post than I ever have before, guys. :}

And whatever, this wouldn’t be a complete update from me without some unhappy cat pictures.

Last post for today. 3rd magazine assignment: part of a photo essay. While my second project is still definitely my favorite, this didn’t turn out completely awful. The concept: migrant train culture and learning the dangers to be avoided. I worked hard to try and make the action and perspective of each photo work well with its placement on the page to actively suggest motion…the pullquote weren’t too shabby, either.
